About LOGO Guide Signs
LOGO Guide Signs are the eye-catching blue Specific Service Signs located on eligible highways that guide motorists to services such as gas, food, lodging, attractions, and camping. The signs show the exit numbers where those services are located. For businesses not visible from the highway, a directional ramp sign will guide drivers to each business.

North Carolina LOGOS
Participating businesses pay an annual rental fee of (pending approval) per each mainline, ramp, and trailblazer panel. Trailblazer panels are necessary when more than one turn is required to find the business. Typically, two business panels are installed along the mainline (one in each direction) and two business panels are installed along the ramps resulting in total annual rental fees of (pending approval).

LOGOS Eligibility Criteria
Services are limited to gas, food, lodging, camping, adn attractions. To qualify, services shall be open to all persons regardless of race, religion, color, sex, or national origin.
Gas
- Appropriate licensing as required by law
- Vehicle services for fuel (gas, diesel, or alternative fuels), motor oil, and water
- On premise restroom facilities
- On premise attendant to collect monies, make change, and make or arrange for tire repairs
- Year-round operation at least 16 continuous hours per day, seven days a week
- On premise telephone available for emergency use by the public
Lodging
- Appropriate licensing as required by law and a permit to operate by the Health Department
- Adequate sleeping accommodations consisting of a minimum of 10 units, except “Bed and Breakfast”, each including bathroom and sleeping room
- Adequate parking accommodations
- Year-round operation
- On premise telephone available for emergency use by the public
Food
- Appropriate licensing as required by law and a permit to operate by the Health Department
- Year-round operation at least eight continuous hours per day, six days a week
- Indoor seating for at least 20 persons
- On premise restroom facilities
- On premise telephone available for emergency use by the public
Camping
- Appropriate licensing as required by law including approved water and sewer systems
- At least 10 campsites to accommodate all types of camping including travel-trailers, tents, and RVs
- Adequate parking accommodations
- Continuous operation, seven days a week during business season
- Removal or masking of business Logo panels by the NCDOT during off seasons, if operated on a seasonal basis
- On premise telephone available for emergency use by the public
Attraction
- Appropriate licensing as required by law
- On premise restroom facilities in a permanent structure
- Maximum distance of service: 3 miles (may extend to 5 miles in certain circumstances)
- Continuously open without appointment at least eight hours per day, five days per week during its normal operating season or the normal operating season for the type of business
- Adequate parking accommodations
- On premise telephone available for emergency use by the public
- Only facilities which have the primary purpose of providing amusement, historical, cultural, or leisure activities to the public and meet the eligibility requirements as specified

Distance to Services and Facilities
The maximum distance that a GAS, FOOD, or LODGING service may be located from the fully or partially controlled access highway shall not exceed three miles at rural interchange/intersection approaches and one mile at urban interchange/intersection approaches in either direction via an all-weather road.
Where no qualifying services exist within three miles (rural) or one mile (urban), provisional contracts are permitted where the maximum distance may be increased to six miles at rural interchange/intersection approaches and three miles at urban interchange/intersection approaches, provided the total travel distance to the business and return to the interchange does not exceed twelve miles.
The maximum distance for a CAMPING or ATTRACTION service shall not exceed 15 miles in either direction via an all-weather road.

How many business logo panels can be displayed on one sign?
No more than six (6) business logo panels shall be displayed on any background sign.
How much do logos cost?
LOGO North Carolina Signs cost between $(pending approval) and $(pending approval) per year. This cost is determined by the daily traffic count for your area. In addition to these annual fees, there is a startup fee for installation and printing.
How much do tods cost?
TODS Signs cost $(pending approval) per direction per year.
How big is a mainline panel?
A mainlane panel is 48″ wide and 36″ tall.
What type of highway is eligible?
A controlled-access highway on the designated state highway system. These typically have on and off ramps and are grade separated.
Do I get to choose position and placement of sign assembly?
Panel position will be determined by a first-come, first-served basis of qualified applicants. In the event of multiple qualifiers, a lottery system for placement will be utilized.
Can I get a ramp sign without a mainline sign?
No, you must have a contract for a mainlane panel. Ramps signs are not contracted separately.
When is a ramp sign required?
Whenever the motorist must make a change in the original direction of travel in order to receive service. TxDOT does not allow ramp signs to be placed without a mainlane sign.
How long will it take for my LOGOS to be installed?
For new structures, it will take about six months from the day we receive your application to the date of installation. For existing structures, it will take about five weeks from the day we receive your application to the date of installation.
Do you offer screen printing?
Yes, screen printing is available upon request. Please call our office for more information.
Mainlane LOGOS cost: $250 for the first color; $50 for each additional color
Ramp LOGOS cost: $175 for the first color; $50 for each additional color
What are the eligibility requirements for the EV (Electric Charging) snipe?
To be eligible to include the EV (Electric Charging) snipe to your Gas business logo:
- The facility is immediately adjacent to the signed conventional highway or lies on a roadway intersected by the signed highway;
- The facility is open to the general public while continuously operating for at least 12 hours per day, 7 days a week;
- The facility has an on-premise sign, visible to motorists, that clearly identifies the specific fuel(s) available at the facility;
- For cities with a population of 250,000 or more: be within a 1/2 mile of the eligible signed intersection;
- For areas with a population of 15,000-250,000: be within 1 mile of the eligible signed intersection;
- For area with a population of 15,000 or less: be within 2 miles of the eligible signed intersection;
- Facilities with Level 3 or higher electric charging stations must contain a cluster with 2 or more charging posts;
- **Level 1 and Level 2 charging stations do not qualify for signing
- The electric charging station is illuminated and includes regulatory signs that clearly identify the dedicated parking spaces for electric vehicle charging
